South Sudan is the youngest nation in the world having gained its independence in 2011 year. Given the history of conflict and resistance that led to independence, the social and economic lives of the people were adversely affected, especially, the children and women.
Children Aid South Sudan (CASS) is a National Non-Governmental, none political, not for profit Organization with focuses realizing the full potential of children. CASS contribution is towards improving the quality of life in the communities with emphasis on children and women. CASS strives to reduce and eventually eliminate absolute poverty, illiteracy and social inequalities in the south Sudan communities. To address the South Sudan’s humanitarian and developmental needs, programs like; in Health and Nutrition, Education, Protection and Gender equality, Livelihood and Agriculture. CASS main mandate is to assist Children to realize their full potential, by supporting and strengthening local institutions and community members to respond effectively to their numerous social-economic challenge

Program Overview
Health and Nutrition: CASS strive to improve the health and nutritional status of individuals, families and communities through provision of emergency and essential health and nutritional services.
Education: CASS work to improve the literacy rate of the most disadvantaged communities through provision of quality primary education, functional adult literacy and early child education.
Food Security and Livelihood: CASS improves the food security and livelihood of individuals, families and communities through provision of enhanced and sustainable agricultural and livestock programming.
Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH): CASS strive to reduce the proportion of individuals who are unable to access or afford safe and clean drinking water and those who do not have access to adequate hygiene and sanitation facilities, at household, community and institutional levels.
Child Protection and GBV: CASS ensures children are protected from violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect including prevention and response to gender based violence.
Disability: CASS advocates for the rights of persons with disabilities including the aged population
Innovation and Research: CASS promotes the use of modern innovative research in order to ensure better solutions that meet novel requirements. Children Aid South Sudan also works to establish evidence-based conclusions leading to better decisions and policies that will improve the human life.
Community Engagement: CASS utilize culturally acceptable community engagement strategies to ensure community involvement in the development and activities we do and their decision in taking ownership and making things happen and possible for them. Empowerment of individuals, families and communities to acquire knowledge and skills, which will enable them to make decisions and act on them.
Peace and Reconciliation: CASS promotes peace building, reconciliation and advocate for justice between and among individuals, families and communities.
Development and rebuilding of critical infrastructures: CASS has been an active partner in Return, Recovery and Resilience programming which complement its humanitarian aid delivery to support conducive environments for sustainable returns and recovery through building resilience, peace and stability through Rule of Law stream by developing and rebuilding community critical infrastructures to enable safe returns of Refugees and IDPs.
