The LRPF-SS was established by national NGOs and Civil Society Organizations, with support from Save the Children International, CARE International, CAFOD & Trócaire, Tearfund, and Christian Aid. It serves as a locally driven funding mechanism for faster and more effective humanitarian response in conflict and disaster-affected communities. LRPF-SS advances the Grand Bargain commitment to localization, increasing local and national actors’ access to funding and decision-making power. Since launching in September 2021, it has provided financial support for relief, recovery, and development efforts across South Sudan.
LRPF-SS prioritizes community-led solutions, shifting from top-down aid models to an inclusive, participatory approach. By empowering local actors with financial resources and decision-making authority, it strengthens capacity and fosters sustainable, locally-led responses. Through collaboration, coordination, and resilience-building, LRPF-SS ensures resources reach those most in need, promoting self-reliance and long-term community empowerment.
